  Today in class we read individually and worked on a one pager. I started mine with a frame and the title adding pencils showing Kiens journaling as well with a journal and adding helmets showing Kien was a soldier. 

  Today in class we watched an interview of MLK. It was it was interesting he speaks about the problems with how black people were segregated. He speaks about how he has realized that his famous “I have a dream” speech was superficial how he needed to realize it wasn’t realistic. In one of the questions Mr.Rease told us to answer there was one question that asked how long do you think till America would treat everyone equally. I wrote that maybe in a century but one of my classmates, Lucas. I liked his response to the question, he said something along the lines of that there never will be such an equal world, because of how humanity is always trying to have power. But for homework tonight I will just re-read a couple of pages of the novel we are reading in class

 Today in class we read a little bit of  "The Sorrow of war", knowing our main character is Kien. How he is a part of the MIA team but having flashbacks to the "present" time and the time when he was a solider. When he was a solider his group they had killed an "orangutan" but once they skinned the animal they realized it was a lady and one by one got killed. The only one alive being Kien believing it was a curse. Tonight I will read pages 8-16. 

 Today in class we watched a video of the Vietnam war, how it happened, the country's that were involved. Interesting how both sides met and when they saw the USA was leaving they took advantage to attack. A 20 year long war with both sides.  Then look at simple things like etiquette, the difference between the USA and Vietnam, as well looking at things someone from the USA must have to visit Vietnam. Tomorrow we will start reading so, the book has seemed interesting so far the way it is formed from a story of a young boy.
